Vorwort: Um das Repertoire fürs Musizieren unter freiem Himmel zu vergrößern, habe ich aus verschiedenen vergriffenen Notenheften Stücke entnommen, teils neu arrangiert, teils so gelassen und zusätzlich viel Neues gebracht, damit sich der musikalische Horizont meiner Bläser erweitert. Ein Schwerpunkt ist das geistliche Liedgut aus England mit den schönen Stücken der Salvation Army. Auf Weihnachtslieder wurde verzichtet, die gibt es anderweitig genug. Dieses Buch ist eine Ergänzung zur Bläserfreude und findet hoffentlich ebenfalls allgemeine Zustimmung. Zum Schluss ein paar Anmerkungen zu Dynamik und Tempo. Wie Sie sehen, habe ich auf Angaben zur Lautstärke weitgehend verzichtet. Lassen Sie es klingen, wie es Ihnen gefällt und spielen Sie die Stücke in einer angemessenen Lautstärke. Es ergibt sich wie von selbst, dass tiefe Töne leiser als hohe gespielt werden. Schnelle Stücke werden etwas lauter gespielt als langsame, vor allem wenn lebendige Achtel zu spielen sind. Das sollten Sie nicht unterdrücken. Andererseits ist es normal, lange Töne eher leiser zu spielen, wobei sie meist leise angeblasen und mit einem An- und Abschwellen versehen werden. Die Tempi habe ich kaum mit den üblichen Angaben wie Andante, Allegro oder Largo, sondern mit Metronomzahlen (MZ) für Viertelnoten versehen. Ich hoffe, dass jeder Chorleiter ein Metronom hat. Wenn nicht, dann sind diese Begriffe für die entsprechenden Metronomzahlen einzusetzen:
MZ 50 - 70 Grave, Largo oder Lento
MZ 70 - 90 Andante
MZ 90 - 110 Andantino oder Allegretto
MZ 110 - 130 Allegro
